SAC: Reykjavik

We really liked Reykjavik, though we didn't see much of it.

I'd been before and Tristan wanted to return with his family later, so we didn't do the normal sights.

However we did visit the dramatic lava inspired but made of concrete church Hallgrimskirkja (above), just as at the start Tristan visited the St Magnus Cathedral at Kirkwall.

That statue standing outside is the famous Viking Leif Ericson, discoverer of America.

Its inside is elegantly minimalist:
There was also an organ with 5,285 pipes: wowsa, that's a lot.

Its definitely worth visiting, in particular as there are great views from the top of the spire (though be warned the bells can ring out while you're up there).
