Third at 75

When I grow old up I want to be like Sir Robin Knox-Johnston.

Congratulations to Sir Robin for coming third, bagging the last podium position in his class, in the 2014 Route du Rhum at the age of 75.

More pictures of his Open 60 Grey Power crossing the line and him having a very well earned bottle of something bubbly here.

Updated: Clip of Sir Robin's "gallon of rum" interview on BBC News here.

Amazing! Is the Queen going to make him a Marquess or a Duke or something now?

Or he could marry Princess Anne (if she wasn't already married.)

She's into horses, don't think that would work out. He'd probably rather be given a good bottle of scotch or something.

He ought to be shoe-in for Oldie Magazine's person of the year

I've just seen him on the BBC news channel wondering what to do with a gallon of rum he's been given.

Ah, what a problem for a sailor to have....

No, Princess Anne is into sailing too. She bought a Rustler 44 a couple of years ago for half a million quid. And she's President of the RYA. I think they would make a lovely couple.

You really should read the Daily Mail more and you would know all this stuff.

Well I never. That's what comes from ignoring the side-bar-of-shame web site. My apologies to HRH Anne Elizabeth Alice Louis etc who must have good taste to get a Rustler (from what I've heard, never actually sailed on).
